"The culprit of the Bayou City's superlative growth is – no surprise – a fracking boom that shot Texas oil production to the highest level in decades. Houston had the nation's highest year-over-year job growth (4.5 percent), which measures how many more jobs were added per quarter than in the same period one year prior.
