Harvest Green Feeds Appetite for Arts Oct. 20

Harvest Green - Harvest Green Feeds Appetite for Arts Oct. 20

October 04, 2017

Harvest Green will feed the bodies and souls of hungry art lovers during Appetite for Art, a farm-to-table dinner pairing the visual and culinary arts 7-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, at The Farmhouse, 3400 Harvest Corner Drive.

The event kicks off the Richmond community’s Appetite for Arts program, which will couple the work of local artists with the culinary creations of local chefs.

“The idea for Appetite for Art came about as a result of our very fruitful partnership with the Contemporary Art Museum Fort Bend,” said Shay Shafie, general manager of Harvest Green. “We will be hosting new art installations every three months and felt the best way to welcome those artists into our community would be with a dinner reflecting the themes they express through their work.”

For this dinner, Chef Jose Parisi of Fuego y Romance Catering Show and Chef Bielitski Prada of Bielina's Catering will create dishes inspired by the paintings of KCAM Artist in residence Mark Deleon.

Deleon’s paintings, a colorful fusion of contemporary and traditional techniques, are currently on display at The Farmhouse. The final day of the art show is Oct. 20 and the dinner will pay tribute to his work.

Chef Parisi will be cooking and serving Argentinian beef on a mesquite grill, while Chef Pada demonstrates her Spanish culinary chops by cooking seafood paella in a giant skillet. The menu also includes a freshly prepared salad and for dessert, Tres Leches. Beer and wine are included in the $30 per person price.

In addition, diners will be able to watch Deleon paint and hear the stories that inspired his work. Sealed bids for the paintings on display will be accepted during the event.

Katy-based Intempo Dance Ensemble will provide entertainment with dancers performing a contemporary piece to a Mexican musical composition.

Tickets to Appetite for Art dinners are limited and only for diners ages 21 and up. Harvest Green will be hosting additional KCAM artists throughout the year with the next dinners scheduled for January, April and July.  Tickets can be purchased at www.harvestgreentexas.com/art.
