We Earned It (Again)

Cross Creek Ranch - We Earned It (Again)

January 08, 2018

Cross Creek Ranch started off the new year off with a bang, earning coveted spots on two illustrious lists of best-selling master-planned communities and maintaining our status as one of the nation’s top 50 developments.

We ranked No. 31 on the Robert Charles Lesser & Co. (RCLCO) annual list with a 5 percent increase in sales over the previous year. John Burns Real Estate Consulting placed us at No. 32. We sold 397 homes in 2017 compared to 377 homes sold in 2016. Over all, the nation’s top 50 masterplans sold more than 28,000 homes — 20 percent more than in 2016.

According to the RCLCO report, successful master-planned communities provided home choices appealing to a wide range of homebuyers. Communities that prominently feature active adult enclaves were particularly successful.

That comes as no surprise to us. We welcomed a number of new residents to Bonterra, our gated, 55+ community this year. Active adults are drawn to Bonterra because it was created with them in mind. They enjoy a lively social scene with neighbors interested in the same activities, opportunities to stay fit with a range of amenities and homes sized to fit them without sacrificing the things they love.

The John Burns report identifies the presence of multiple builders, creative amenities and increased first-time buyer demand as key factors in the growth of top-selling communities.

We’ve been saying and doing that for 10 years now. We offer a choice of builders including Perry Homes, Chesmar Homes, Darling Homes, Taylor Morrison, Partners in Building, Avanti Custom Homes, Sitterle Homes, Trendmaker Homes, Village Builders, Newmark Homes, Highland Homes and Lennar Homes. Homes are attractively priced from the $220,000s.

As far as creativity goes, our focus on sustainability more than meets the criteria. We restored Flewellan Creek to create an ecosystem that encourages wildlife to make their home with us. We also offer two (soon to be three) recreation complexes, a disc golf course, an on-site café and one (soon to be four) on-site Katy ISD schools.

We are one of five projects of the Johnson Development Corp. that made the lists, including top-selling Fort Bend community Riverstone as well as Harvest Green in Richmond, Woodforest South Montgomery County and Sienna Plantation in Missouri City. Johnson Development had more communities ranked among the nation’s top 50 than any other developer.
