How About a Colorful Date Night?

Harvest Green - How About a Colorful Date Night?

January 26, 2018

Getting tired of the old dinner and a movie date night routine? Why not experience an explosion of color, food and love at Appetite for Art on Friday, Feb. 9, from 7-11 p.m.?

The colorful art of Roberta Harris and Chuck Hipsher will be the inspiration for a three-course Americana meal prepared by a local chef at The Farmhouse, 3400 Harvest Corner Drive.

Harris, a nationally acclaimed artist whose paintings and sculptures grace numerous private and corporate collections, employs primitive and modern symbols to create a dialogue with the viewer and inspire actions that shape the future by bringing to life the voices, talents, achievements and aspirations of those who experience it.

Hipsher draws inspiration for his bold, gestural paintings from the raw beauty in life. A seasoned artist whose work has been displayed in art galleries in Chicago, Miami and New York City, Hipsher delights in a style he calls Gestural Abstraction.

The three-course, farm-to-table dinner will be prepared by Chef Brian and Dish Society. It will consiste of pork belly bites and lettuce wraps, salad using our own Village Farm produce,
Texas pecan pesto pasta with chicken and shrimp on the side and a Brisket stuffed sweet potato. Dessert will be locally sourced chocolate cake.

The evening kicks off a month-long exhibition at The Farmhouse. The artists will be on-hand to discuss their work with guests. The evening also will include music by Wasi Townsend and a performance by members of Katy’s Spotlight Acting Academy.

Appetite for Art is a collaboration between Harvest Green and the Contemporary Art Museum (CAM). The event occurs four times a year, showcasing different artists and chefs.

Tickets are $50 per person or $85 per couple. Wine and beer is included. For more information about the event and a menu staring produce from our own Village Farm visit our Facebook page.
