Woodforest - Holiday Happenings Close to Home

When it comes to holiday happenings, Woodforest residents are spoiled for choice. Residents enjoy a jam-packed schedule of events planned just for them by our Director of Fun including breakfast with Santa, a holiday storytime and our eagerly anticipated Blitzen’s Bash featuring ornament decorating, hot cocoa and cookies, a trackless train, petting zoo and more.

If those activities weren’t enough, Woodforest residents can easily explore a sleighful of activities held throughout Montgomery County including those in The Woodlands and Conroe.

Not a resident yet? Come visit us during our public Winter Wonderland festival from 3-6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14, at The Church at Woodforest. Then check out our favorite local events.

The Woodlands

Market Street Holiday Concerts

Times vary, now through Dec. 23
Free
Get into the holiday spirit with free holiday music including Knox Choir Winter Tour, 1 p.m. Dec. 8; Boni’s Dance Studio Holiday Performance, 6 p.m. Dec. 9; The Woodlands Winds Holiday Concert, Grand Oaks High School Choir, 2:30 p.m. Dec. 17; and more.

Jingle Boats

1-3 p.m. Saturdays, Dec. 7 and 14

Hunt for floating presents and enjoy the beauty of Lake Woodlands when you rent a kayak from Riva Row Boat House. The event is aimed at kids age 15 and younger, but all ages are accepted.

Holly Jolly Christmas Climb

9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Sat., Dec. 21

Climb with Santa and Ella the Elf at Texas TreeVentures. Come for donuts followed by a Gear Up training class then hit the trees for a three-hour climb. Must pre-register.

Feliz Navi-Dog

3-4 p.m. Sun., Dec. 15
$5 per dog
Take Fido out to Bear Branch Park for a treat hunt and holiday pooch pageant! Enjoy hot cocoa while your pets socialize. Choose two out of the six categories: best behaved, best trick, smallest, largest and best costume.

The Ice Rink in The Woodlands Town Center

3-9 p.m. Mon.-Thur., 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Sat. and noon-7 p.m. Sun. through Jan. 20
$12.50 adults, $6 kids 5 and younger. Includes skate rental.

Conroe

Christmas Boat Parade of Lights on Lake Conroe

A Christmas parade featuring beautifully lit boats will ring in the holidays on Lake Conroe.

Conroe Christmas Celebration

11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sat., Dec. 14
Free
Santa Claus will be the guest of honor at this festival, which includes snow hills, face painting, a petting zoo, pony rides, train rides, a live Nativity, camel rides and much more!

Christmas in the Woods

10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sat., Dec. 14
Free admission
Santa will pay a visit to the Conroe family fun park offering a western play town, giant sandbox, petting zoo, pony and train rides face painting and more.

Christmas in Historic Montgomery

8 a.m.-8 p.m. Sat., Dec. 14
Free admission
Numerous holiday activities will take place in Historic Downtown Montgomery including breakfast with Santa, cookie walk, candlelight home tour, holiday market and the annual Christmas parade.
