Grand Central Park - Look at Downtown Conroe Grow!

March 03, 2021

Grand Central Park residents love the gorgeous amenities granted to us by Mother Nature, but when they want to go out for a night on the town, they’re heading to Downtown Conroe.

Once a sleepy area near the courthouse, Downtown Conroe is undergoing a makeover. Working from the 2018 Revitalization Plan for Downtown Conroe, city leaders want to put Conroe on the map as a city with a vibrant nightlife, great dining and premier shopping. You can read more about it here.

The plan aims to divide Downtown Conroe into districts including Neartown, Arts and Honors, Uptown, Central Business, Homestead and Old Town Marketplace.

If you visit, you can already see the changes with new businesses and music venues joining the perennially popular The Corner Pub and The Red Brick Tavern. Both restaurants operate out of renovated historic buildings, adding a dose of charm to the dining experiences.

Just last year the downtown area saw the opening of New Orleans Bakery & Café, Honor Café and The University of St. Thomas.

Two music venues — 202 Main and Martin’s Hall — are in full swing with plans to turn Martin’s Hall into a whiskey and cigar bar.

This year will see the opening of a number of new businesses including Galavant’s Coffee Cart, the Blue Epiphany Winery tasting room, The Ferm Meadery and Fass Brewing Company.

If you haven’t checked out what’s happening downtown, you should. When you do, say hello to our residents, they’re sure to be there enjoying it all!
