Harvest Green - Keep Your Cool Near Harvest Green

June 07, 2021

When Texas heats up for the summer, Harvest Green residents are lucky. In addition to living in energy-efficient homes that help lower the cost of keeping the air conditioning on, they have access to our fabulous Farmhouse. The amenity complex is anchored by a beautiful pool they can swim in all summer as well as a splash pad for the little ones.

If you don’t live in Harvest Green, there are still plenty of ways to keep your cool. Take a look at our residents’ favorite ways to beat the heat.

 Ice Cream and Smoothies

Over the Top Waffle Shop

With flavors like Granny's Banana Pudd'n, Cookie Monster and Cotton Candy wrapped in warm bubble waffles, this premium ice cream shop located around the corner from our community is the perfect spot for a cooling summer treat.

Trough Juice Bar

Smoothies are a great on-the-go drink sure to bring your internal temperature down, but what makes these juices and smoothies special is how delicious and nutritious they are.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe

Dreaming of being caressed by cool island breezes? Take a trip to this smoothie café and sip your way to the tropics. This summer they have two new flavors — Watermelon Mojito and Mango Berry Cosmo.

La Michoacana Natural Ice Cream

Family members that can’t do dairy can still cool down with an icy treat. In addition to traditional paletas de hielo such as Limon con Chamoy, La Michoacana in Rosenburg offers dairy-free options including frozen fruit bars and frozen fruit cups.

Water Fun

Typhoon Texas

Chill at Fort Bend’s favorite water park. Slide down the Bullchute. Get the family on board the The Typhoon. Grab a tube and relax in Tidal Wave Bay. Plan to spend the entire day getting wet and having fun.

Splash Pad at River Park

This cute splash pad is worth the drive to Sugar Land. Water fountains, dumping buckets and a misting rainbow are just a few of its attractions.

Splash Pad at Constellation Field

Planning on attending a Sugar Land Skeeters game? Pack towels and swimsuits for the kids because Constellation Field has a splash pad. The pad overlooks the playing field so kids can splash and watch the game.

Museums

Fort Bend Childrens Discovery Center

Cool and educational too? The Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center has re-opened so take the kids to enjoy the air conditioning and exciting, hands-on exhibits.

Visit the tropical rainforest exhibit to learn more about conservation, let budding paleontologists discover dinosaur bones in the dig pit and explore space in search of Ice Worlds.

Fort Bend Museum

Fridays are for kids, beginning in July at the Fort Bend Museum but the rest of the time you can enjoy the new Something Old, Something New wedding exhibit.

Malls

First Colony Mall

Shop ‘til you drop or catch a movie in the cool comfort of an air-conditioned mall.

Sugar Land Town Square

Sure, it’s an outdoors shopping center but Sugar Land Town Square also hosts great events when the sun goes down. Show up for Opry on the Square, Movie Under the Moon, Music on the Plaza and more.
