Michael Smith is a proven land development veteran who during his career has managed several large-scale communities including the award-winning, 10,000-acre Sienna Plantation, a project of Johnson Development Corp.
As Senior Vice President & Director of Land Development, Mr. Smith directs the development, marketing and sales of Johnson Development Corp’s master-planned communities, representing the company to home builders, governmental agencies, public officials, homeowner associations and in community relations.
Prior to joining Johnson Development Corp., Mr. Smith served as a Land Development Project Manager for LJA Engineering & Surveying and Turner, Collie & Braden, Inc., both of Houston, where he worked on several large-scale land development projects throughout Texas. He also served as a Project Engineer for J.A. Jones Construction Company in the Heavy Marine Division where he worked on several hydroelectric dam projects in Arizona.
Mr. Smith earned his Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Houston. He is a Licensed Engineer in the State of Texas and a Veteran of the U.S. Army Honor Guard in Washington, D.C. Mr. Smith is a member of Rotary International, the Greater Houston Builders Association, the Urban Land Institute and its Community Development Council. He also is a former Board Director of the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce.
