The Perfect Summer Day Starts in Sienna

Sienna - The Perfect Summer Day Starts in Sienna

June 13, 2025

Ahh.. summer in Sienna — there’s no other experience like it. Water parks, tennis and pickleball courts, a golf course, and a beach club give it a resort vibe, while neighborhood playgrounds and scenic parks invite convenient recreation and relaxation. Looking for something to do? Kid classes appeal to an array of interests, and the entire family can enjoy plenty of outdoor concerts and other events. Let’s take a look at what a typical summer day might be for a resident of Sienna:

Say Hello to the Day

Get up early for a jog along neighborhood sidewalks or more rugged nature trails. Still like to start your day with exercise but prefer to do it a little later? You have a choice of two onsite fitness centers — you might even want to try a new fitness class. And if your version of a good morning is a cup of coffee and the sound of bird songs, you can simply enjoy your time on the patio of your beautiful Sienna home.

Picnic with Friends

Call up your neighbors with young children for a playdate at the park — the hard decision will be which one. Let the kids play while you catch up. When tummies start rumbling, unpack the sandwiches and snacks. Kids too old for Mom-scheduled playdates or they have already left the nest? Meet with a friend for coffee at one of Sienna’s coffee shops or enjoy an early lunch at one of the many restaurants located in the community.

The Clock Says Pool Time

Summer in Texas is hot. Of course, you could stay inside in the air conditioning to escape the heat. But if you live in Sienna — you could visit a water park or neighborhood pool. Club Sienna — otherwise known as the Big Bucket Pool — is ideal for families with younger children, while the Sawmill Lake Club pool has a more “read-a-book-and-chill” vibe. The kiddos love the nearby splash pad. The Resort at Sienna Springs, the Brushy Lake Pool, and the Steep Bank Pool let you visit a new pool nearly every day of the week.

What to Cook — or Not Cook — for Dinner

Light up the grill and invite neighbors over for your famous burgers. Involve the kids by having them mix ingredients for brownies after a family dinner. Or you can skip the culinary chores altogether and head out to one of the onsite or nearby restaurants. Fuel up at the Sienna Grille after a round of golf. Take the Fort Bend Parkway that passes through Sienna into town to explore Houston’s vibrant restaurant scene. Try some street eats during the popular Truck ‘N Munch resident events held throughout the year. Sienna residents have lots of choices!

Call It a Night?

After tucking in the kiddos after a busy day at the park and pool, Mom and Dad might relax on the patio with a glass of wine or take advantage of kid-free TV time to watch another episode of “The Last of Us.” But staying at home isn’t the only option — how about a bit of friendly competition on the lighted tennis and pickleball courts? If you’re not in the mood to sweat, but still would like to get out, you can take a stroll through the neighborhood or invite friends to share a bottle of your favorite wine at Sawmill Lake Club — the bar area even has built-in wine “buckets” so you can keep your bottle chilled.
