Grange - Grange Found Its Place in Katy

Grange is a newcomer to Katy, but you’d never know it. Katy has welcomed us with open arms.

We embraced life in Katy from the start, sponsoring events such as the Katy Rice Festival hosted by the City of Katy, the Katy FFA Livestock Show and The Ballard House's annual sporting clay tournament. We also invited local residents into the community to enjoy food, flowers, and family fun during our spring grand opening. It was a first sample of the warm, endearing lifestyle residents can expect here. This summer's Sip & See was even better, with folks chatting over coffee and homemade treats, everyone eager to meet our lifestyle director — who was already planning the next neighborhood get-together.

We weren’t stopping there. More community involvement was on the way. Late last year, we announced The Grange by Johnson Development Corp. College Scholarship Program, awarding our first $5,000 scholarships this spring to two amazing Lamar CISD graduates well on their way to successful futures. Seeing their faces as they accepted their checks was a touching reminder of why we launched the scholarship program.

The Grange team has also formed a tight partnership with some of the area’s most influential real estate professionals, drawing on their expertise to help us finetune the community for the wants and needs of local home buyers. Our Grange Realtor Rangers have been a powerful resource and have warmly welcomed Grange into the Katy community.

Also giving us an enthusiastic welcome has been the Katy Area Chamber of Commerce, which was onsite June 23 for our official ribbon cutting. Grange is now a chamber member, joining a vibrant group of 500+ businesses invested in making Katy a wonderful place to live and work.

Perhaps the greatest confirmation of our acceptance into the Katy community is being named Best Developer in the 2025 Best of Katy awards sponsored by the chamber and Katy Times. Nearly 2,000 companies were nominated for the extensive list of “best of” categories, and we are honored to not only to be nominated but also selected. Being named Best Developer is proof that doing right by your community pays off.

It’s been an incredible 12+ months since development of Grange began and we started establishing ourselves in the Katy community. We've got more homes coming, new amenities opening, and plenty of additional ideas for supporting our neighbors. But right now, we're just grateful to be part of something bigger than ourselves.

After all, the best communities aren't built — they're grown, one relationship at a time.
