IWBI Awards 125 Homes in Jubilee with WELL Residence Certifications

Jubilee - IWBI Awards 125 Homes in Jubilee with WELL Residence Certifications

October 21, 2025

Jubilee is again a pioneer, with 125 homes receiving a WELL Residence certification from the International Well Building Institute (IWBI). Jubilee’s are the first homes in Texas to receive this certification, signifying they have met a global standard for healthier, more resilient homes.

Two years ago, Jubilee was the first in the state to become an early adopter of IWBI’s WELL for residential program, designed to transform the way homes are designed, built and maintained to support human health and well-being.

“This WELL certification means that homes aren’t just built — they’re built to promote health with cleaner air and water, safer materials, better light, less noise and increased comfort,” said June Tang, Vice President and General Manager of Jubilee. “This important third-party verification further validates our community focus on wellness.”

The WELL for residential program consists of more than 100 health strategies to foster healthier environments at home. These include improved air and water quality, safer building materials, proper lighting, optimized sleep and more. Johnson Development, developer of Jubilee, was one of 25 early adopters across 10 countries.

“At IWBI, we’re proud to celebrate this milestone achievement as the first batch of Jubilee homes earns the WELL Residence designation — the first in Texas,” said Liz Miles, Vice President of Residential, International WELL Building Institute. “By embedding health and well-being strategies into these homes from the start, Johnson Development is creating a foundation to scale healthier living across nearly 4,000 homes, benefitting thousands of families.”

The 125 Jubilee homes were among the first submitted for third-party verification. The goal is to have all homes in Jubilee earn the WELL Residence seal.

“Every home is being built to program standards, and we will send a batch of 100 or more homes to be certified each year,” Tang said.

Buyers have closed on approxmately 250 homes in the Hockley community so far.

Jubilee’s builders — Chesmar Homes, Coventry Homes, David Weekly Homes, Highland Homes, J. Patrick Homes, Newmark Homes, Perry Homes, Tri Pointe Homes and Westin Homes — have committed to including upgraded wellness features as standard in every Jubilee home. These include a reverse-osmosis filtration system at the kitchen sink; a fresh-air intake and a MERV 13 media filter; circadian rhythm lighting for the family room, kitchen, and primary bedroom; and a central automation system.

“All homes also achieve an Indoor AirPlus rating from the Environmental Protection Agency,” Tang said.

Jubilee is considered the first community in Texas to be centered on wellness. In addition to standard features in homes that are often considered optional in other communities, Jubilee’s master plan includes wellness zones, intentionally designed spaces for connection, exploration, inspiration and reflection.

“It is our vision that Jubilee sparks joy for residents when they come home,” Tang said. “We want home to be their happy place. And with happiness comes a host of health benefits.”
