Houston Business Journal Names Johnson Development a Best Place to Work

At Johnson Development, we not only want to build places people want to live in, we also want to build a place people want to work.

For a second time this year, Johnson Development has done just that, with the Houston Business Journal listing us on its 2025 Best Place to Work tally. The publication also named us a Best Place to Work last year.

The annual awards program recognizes extra-small to extra-large local employers who have gone above and beyond to create an outstanding workplace culture. Employees are confidentially surveyed on things like team dynamics, trust in leadership, communication, and more to determine winners. Only the top-scoring companies in each company size category are named one of the Best Places to Work.

Surveys of Johnson employees noted the company’s culture, our flexibility, and great co-workers as reasons they consider Johnson a great place to work. Leadership is respectful and inclusive, and the chance to work from home one day a week is a much-appreciated perk.

Employees also said they are encouraged to grow professionally and personally, with opportunities for learning, advancement, and mentorship.

Earlier this year, Johnson Development was named one of the Best and Brightest Companies to Work For in recognition of how we treat our employees. It was our fifth time winning this award.

A service organization of the National Association of Business Resources, the Best and Brightest Companies to Work For competition honors organizations with a commitment to excellence in their human resources practices and employee enrichment. Categories considered include communication, work-life balance, employee education, diversity, recognition, retention and more.
