Grange - Grange Scholarship Applications Open Jan. 1December 17, 2025
This is the second year for the program which offers a one-time award of $5,000 to two eligible Katy ISD high school seniors. This financial boost can be used to cover a wide range of education-related expenses, including tuition, books, room and board, and even technology such as laptops or other necessary supplies. More than just financial assistance, this scholarship highlights the value of academic excellence and the importance of giving back to the community. It recognizes students who have worked hard to excel in their studies while also making a positive impact on those around them. By supporting these well-rounded individuals, the program aims to empower the next generation of leaders and help them reach their full potential. Crystal Yang and Natalie Michael were awarded the first ever scholarships last August. Yang, a graduate of Tompkins High School, is studying business and computer science at the University of Pennsylvania, as well as continuing to run Audemy.org, a nonprofit organization revolutionizing accessible education for blind and visually impaired students. Natalie Michael, a graduate of Jordan High School, is pursuing a major in public health with a pre-dental focus, along with minors in neurology and finance at Texas A&M University in College Station. Her goal is to become a dentist and use her skills to provide care in underserved African communities through H.O.P.E. Social Services. To apply for the 2026 scholarship, students must meet a few key criteria, including a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. This ensures that they're academically prepared to take on the challenges of higher education. Applicants must also be enrolling in a two- to five-year institution starting the following fall and be a U. S. citizen or permanent resident living within the Katy area. The application deadline is March 1 with winners announced in April. Full details on the program and the application can be found at https://www.liveingrange.com/scholarship. If you know of a student who is a perfect fit for this opportunity, encourage them to apply. It could make all the difference to their academic journey. |
