Grand Central Park Builders Receive Final HomesitesJanuary 21, 2026
After nearly 10 years of home sales, Johnson Development has released the final homesites to builders in Grand Central Park. Builders David Weekley Homes, Drees Custom Homes, Highland Homes, Perry Homes and Westin Homes received 159 lots last month in a mix of sizes, from 45 feet wide to 60 feet wide. Senior Vice President and General Manager Bob Douglas expects the Conroe community to sell its last newly built homes in the third or fourth quarter of 2027. “We’ve had an amazing run in Grand Central Park, realizing our vision to create a vibrant community that has a unique blend of abundant natural elements and urban conveniences,” said Douglas. “Over the past 10 years, Grand Central Park has transformed the Conroe region with more retail, restaurants and office space, all while preserving much of the natural elements beloved by so many local residents.” Johnson Development acquired the more than 2,000-acre community in 2013, with a commitment to preserve a large portion of the forested land. Today, approximately 50 percent remains in its natural state, and residents have access to 10 miles of authentic hiking trails and several natural lakes — including the 88-acre Grand Lake. The Lake House amenity complex and event center opened along Grand Lake in 2021. “Our natural features really define the lifestyle our residents enjoy,” Douglas said. “Kayaking, fishing and hiking are very much a part of everyday life here in Grand Central Park.” So is quick access to shopping and dining. 336 Marketplace opened in 2018, offering more than 250,000 square feet of retail. City Central along Interstate 45 followed a couple of years later and is home to Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, shopping and dining at Marcel Boulevard, and the Hyatt Regency Conroe Hotel & Convention Center. Currently, seven builders offer homes in Grand Central Park priced from the $350,000s to more than $1 million. Builders have closed on more than 1,550 homes in Grand Central Park, with approximately 250 opportunities for a new home remaining in the community. About 4,000 people call the community home.
