Grange - Johnson Communities Raise $15,000 for Make-a-WishJanuary 28, 2026
There’s something special about the holidays that brings folks together like nothing else. Add in a good cause and a dose of small-town charm, and you’ve got a recipe for something truly magical. That’s exactly what happened when Grange and six other Johnson communities came together for the Tour of Trees hoping to raise $15,000 for Make-A-Wish Gulf Coast and Louisiana so a young boy’s dream could come true. Samuel, a 13-year-old boy with a neuromuscular disorder and a love for video games, was at the heart of it all. When Make-A-Wish asked him about his greatest dream, he didn’t hesitate—he wanted to visit Epic Universe. Thanks to Johnson, Grange and its sister communities, Samuel and his family were treated to an unforgettable trip to Orlando. They spent a whole week soaking in the magic, where Samuel got to meet Mario and his favorite characters, explore Super Nintendo World, and make memories that will last a lifetime. When they returned, Johnson Development and Make-A-Wish celebrated the family with a special event to honor their journey. The family showed off photos from their trip and Samuel even got a few birthday surprises — his big day had been the week before. This was the first year for the north Houston Tour of Trees. Each community — Grange, Grand Central Park in Conroe, Jubilee and Everly in Hockley, Kresston and Briarley in Montgomery, and Amira in Tomball turned their model homes into dazzling winter wonderlands with each one featuring a spectacularly decorated Christmas tree. Folks from across the area were invited to tour the homes, and for every model home visited, Johnson donated $5. There were 45 trees altogether. Grange alone had eight homes decked out like something straight out of a holiday movie, with three standout designs by K&A Designs stealing the show. From Chesmar Homes’ cozy countryside vibes to Drees Custom Homes’ Houston Astros-themed holiday celebration and Highland Homes’ sugary-sweet Candyland dream, every tree told its own unique story. Grange was thrilled to be a part of this family’s journey because family and giving back is what it’s all about, right? We look forward to next year’s Tour of Trees. See you there! |
