Jubilee - Volunteering with Boys & Girls Country of Houston

Community is at the heart of everything we do—and recently, our team had the privilege of putting that value into action alongside a wonderful group of local Realtors.

We spent the day volunteering at Boys & Girls Country of Houston in Hockley, Texas, a licensed residential home that has been serving children and young adults for more than 50 years. Their mission is to change the lives of children from families in crisis by loving and nurturing them in a secure, stable, Christian home environment, with a focus on helping each child grow into a self-sustaining and contributing adult. They provide trauma-informed care through family-style cottages with trained houseparents, education support, and programs that extend into adulthood to help young people pursue college, career training, or military opportunities—all while offering a place to call home.

Our volunteers rolled up their sleeves to make a tangible impact on campus. Together, we repainted one of the homes for a house parent family, giving the space a fresh, welcoming update, and spent time sprucing up the garden—helping create an environment that feels warm, cared for, and uplifting for the children who live there.

In addition to our time and efforts, Johnson Development was proud to donate $2,000 to Boys & Girls Country to support their ongoing mission and the daily needs of the children and families they serve.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside our Realtor partners and to support an organization that is doing such meaningful, life-changing work right here in our community. Days like this remind us that when we come together, even small acts can make a lasting difference.
