Grange - Grange Spotlight: Y & H Buttery BakeryFebruary 06, 2026
If you haven’t treated yourself to Y & H Buttery Bakery yet, you’re in for a delicious, flaky revelation. This locally owned gem, run by Sam Yang and his wife, has a loyal following of pastry lovers who come for the croissants but stay for the welcoming, community vibe. Yang worked in several bakeries before he and his wife opened Y & H. In fact, his wife was the inspiration. She asked him if he could make croissants at home. He didn’t know how but did a deep dive into everything croissant. After several years’ study, he decided to bring his flakey, buttery creations to Katy. Yang starts his day at 3:30 a.m. measuring, mixing, and baking his artisanal croissants using just a handful of simple, high-quality ingredients. The result? Croissants that are perfectly flaky on the outside and melt-in-your-mouth buttery on the inside. Whether you’re after a classic Texas-sized croissant or an inventive Matcha Cream Croissant (available only Friday through Sunday), every bite feels like a labor of love. Croissants aren’t the only pastry on the menu. Craving something cheesy and indulgent? Try their mushroom Danish baked with mozzarella, mild cheddar, a touch of truffle oil, and a sprinkle of Italian seasoning. In the mood for something sweet? The honey glazed cinnamon buns and Dubai chocolate pastry have you covered. Lunch options are also available with meats and cheeses packed within freshly baked croissants. Each delicate pastry can be paired with Cordoba Royal coffee. Enjoy it Americano or try some of the specialty lattes and espressos. Need to feed a crowd? Catering options are available. Y & H Buttery Bakery isn’t far from Grange, meaning residents can grab a delicious breakfast on-the-go or settle in for a weekend treat. We’re right there with you!
