Grand Central Park - Run, Walk, Dash and Make a Difference June 13May 06, 2026
Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 13, because Grand Central Park is the place to be for this year’s Montgomery County Food Bank Outrun Hunger walk/run. Starting at 7:45 a.m., participants of all ages and abilities can hit the trails for an exciting day of running, walking, and colorful fun, all while supporting a vital cause: fighting hunger in Montgomery County. H-E-B Hunger Relief is the Presenting Sponsor with our community hosting the race as the Venue Sponsor. Participants can choose from a timed 8K or 5K run/walk on our gorgeous trail system. For a splash of fun, friends, and family can give the 1K Color Dash a try. Registration fees are $70 for the 8K Trail Run/Walk which provides up to 280 meals for those facing hunger. The $55 5K fee provides up to 200 meals and the $30 fee for the 1K Color Dashprovides up to 120 meals. Want to take it to the next level? Gather your friends, family, or coworkers and form a team for even more fun. All participants receive a t-shirt and a participation medal, with special prizes awarded to the top three men’s and women’s finishers in the 8K and 5K categories. Oh, and Color Dash runners? You’ll get a color pack to really kick up the fun! During the event the Grand Central Park Party Pavillion will be open at The Lake House for participants and their cheering squad. Activities will include live music, food trucks, photo ops, a kids’ zone, and more. It’s the perfect way to celebrate your morning of giving back. Proceeds from Outrun Hunger go directly to the Montgomery County Food Bank, which works tirelessly to provide nutritious meals to families across the county. In 2025 alone, they delivered nearly 10 million meals through local partnerships and green initiatives like their Produce Rescue Center. By participating, you’re part of a bigger movement to create a hunger-free community. Ready to run, walk, or dash for a cause? Registration is open now, so grab your sneakers, rally your crew, and let’s make a difference together.
