Final New Home Sells in Cross Creek RanchMay 04, 2026
After 20 years of development, the last newly built home has been sold in Cross Creek Ranch. The home, a 2,001-square-foot design by Taylor Morrison, is in Bonterra at Cross Creek Ranch, the Fulshear community’s active adult, 55+ neighborhood. After more than 100 homes sold in Cross Creek Ranch in 2025, the community started this year with about a dozen opportunities for a newly built home. “2025 was a transitional year for Cross Creek Ranch,” said Stephen Brovarone, General Manager. “Our last lots were delivered to builders in 2024, and they quickly started running through their inventory, with most of them selling out last year." Trendmaker Homes (now Tri Pointe Homes) originally acquired the 3,200 acres for Cross Creek Ranch and began development in 2006. Johnson Development purchased the community in 2012 and expanded on the vision originally set for it. In addition to being ranked among the nation’s top-selling master-planned communities for 13 years, Cross Creek Ranch also won acclaim for its commitment to environmentally sensitive development. Johnson Development’s restoration of Flewellen Creek won a Parks and Natural Areas restoration award by the Houston-Galveston Area Council in 2014. The community also won a Trees for Houston Arbor Award in 2016 and a Sustainability Stars Award by the West Houston Association in 2018. “Flewellen Creek was nothing more than an agricultural ditch when development here began,” Brovarone said. “Today, it is a nature preserve that winds two miles through the community, providing wildlife habitats and amenity space for residents to enjoy.” Brovarone said Cross Creek Ranch has also transformed the region. “In 2010, the city of Fulshear’s population was less than 1,200 residents,” he said. “The latest census data has the city’s population at more than 54,000. Our impact can also be measured in the many businesses that have opened in the region — including right here in Cross Creek Ranch.” Johnson Development’s contribution to Fulshear’s growth isn’t ending with Cross Creek Ranch. In 2022, builders started sales in another Johnson Development community in Fulshear — nearby Cross Creek West. “Cross Creek West is a continuation of Cross Creek Ranch,” Brovarone said. “Less than five minutes apart, both communities are governed by the same homeowners association, and residents can access amenities at either community. As we continue development of Cross Creek West, we are prioritizing the elements that made Cross Creek Ranch successful. We’re giving careful consideration to the environment while creating a walkable community with an amazing recreation center and diverse neighborhood parks.” Five builders offer homes from the $380,000s in Cross Creek West, and eight model homes are open daily. Planned for about 3,000 homes, the 1,258-acre Cross Creek West currently has more than 800 families and an estimated 2,550 residents. |
