Ready, set, register! The 9th annual OutRun Hunger 5K Family Walk & Run is sprinting your way on Saturday, Oct. 3, and it’s more than just a race, it’s a chance to help local families to outrun hunger.

Hosted by Harvest Green, this fun-filled event benefits the East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry, helping families cross the finish line when it comes to food insecurity. Whether you're racing for a medal or just for fun, every step you take helps provide meals and support for those in need.

Race day kicks off bright and early at 7 a.m. at The Farmhouse, 3400 Harvest Corner Drive. There will be a group stretch at 7:40 a.m., then it’s time for the kids to dash off at 8 a.m. before the main 5K takes off at 8:30 a.m. Medals await the top three male and female finishers in each age group. After you cross the finish line, stick around for a post-race bash filled with kid-approved fun, local vendors, and plenty of picture-perfect moments.

Last year’s OutRun Hunger 5K was a record-breaking sprint to success. With 479 adults, 101 kids, and 48 sponsors hitting the ground running, the event raised an impressive $43,700, outpacing the previous year by $8,700. Since the starting line of this event’s history, a whopping $210,200 has been raised to support families in need.
