Kresston Expands with New Homesites, Builders and ParkAugust 17, 2026
Johnson Development’s Kresston community is again expanding, adding 60-foot and 80-foot homesites to the wide variety of lots available in the community. The addition brings 98 new homesites to the community and four new model homes. The initial phase of 67 60-foot homesites will be available in Heartland District, with builders David Weekley Homes and Newmark Homes — new to Kresston — offering homes on the new lots. Builders J. Patrick Homes and Toll Brothers will have designs for the 31 80-foot homesites. J. Patrick Homes is new to the community. Pre-sales are expected to begin this fall with model homes opening early 2027. “Adding two new collections of homesites to our current mix deepens opportunities for move-up buyers,” said Stephen Barrera, Vice President and General Manager of Kresston. “We envision Kresston as not just a home for people, but a hometown — a place where they can purchase their first home and their second or even third home as their needs change over time. Having a broad selection of homesites makes this possible.” Other builders in Kresston include Chesmar Homes, Gracepoint Homes, Highland Homes, Huntington Homes, Perry Homes, Village Builders and Westin Homes. Pricing in the community ranges from the $290,000s to more than $800,000. Starting construction by year’s end is a new Kresston amenity — Makers Grove Park. Located in Heartland Reserve, the 1.7-acre park takes its inspiration from the renowned market in Round Top, Texas, to create a space where children can explore and stretch their imaginations. The park will include a barn-inspired playscape, a chalk art plaza, central picnic plaza and an open lawn. The colorful, miniature market-style storefronts of the Makers Grove Children’s Village will encourage imaginative role play. The park is expected to open next year. Coming this fall is Songbird Hollow Park, a 1-acre green space inspired by Luckenbach, Texas. The park will feature a picnic and barbecue area, fire pit plaza, entertainment pavilion, barrel seating, bench swings, horseshoe court and events lawn. Opened last year in the community is the 10-acre Legends Pointe amenity complex, which includes Horseshoe Heights playground, Frontier Bluffs Splashpad, Legends Pickleball Court and the Boot House Welcome Center. In the planning stages is Liberty Junction, which will be contiguous to Legends Pointe. Together they will offer more than 20 acres of community-wide amenities. Liberty Junction is patterned after the town of Gruene, Texas, and is envisioned to include a robust aquatic center, a live music pavilion, multi-use indoor facilities, a variety of recreational amenities and designated camping sites. Kresston is located near Magnolia with frontage along State Highway 249 and FM 1486. |
