Harvest Green - 2026 OutRun Hunger 5K Sets Another Record at Harvest GreenOctober 15, 2026
The 9th annual OutRun Hunger 5K Family Walk & Run at Harvest Green crossed the finish line with another new fundraising record, outpacing its $45,000 goal to raise more than $50,000 for East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry. The total tops the approximately $43,000 raised during the 2025 race and brings the event's cumulative contribution to approximately $260,000 over its nine-year history. Funds help the nonprofit provide food and financial assistance to children, families and seniors in Fort Bend County. "The generosity displayed this year was beyond belief," said Megan Leonhardt, Development Director for East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry. "Whether participants walked, ran, donated or helped their little ones across the finish line, we are so grateful they spent their Saturday morning with us." This year's run drew 570 participants in the 5K and 115 children in the kids’ run. A total of 52 sponsors contributed $28,250 toward the fundraising total. Memorial Hermann Sugar Land returned as the event's title sponsor for the fifth consecutive year. The race concluded with an after-party for participants and their cheering squads. The top three finishers in each age group received prize medals. The OutRun Hunger 5K Family Walk & Run supports a vital community resource. In 2025, EFBHNM’s food assistance program helped ensure that 18,326 children did not go hungry. The run has been held at Harvest Green since its inception and will continue to do so as it celebrates its 10th anniversary on Oct. 2, 2027. “Looking back, it’s astonishing that we are already coming up on 10 years of hosting this race,” said Kore Deaville, Director of Marketing for Harvest Green. “We are excited to celebrate with East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry and make next year the best year ever.” |
