Johnson Development Named Developer of the Year in 2026 Houston Agents’ Choice Awards

October 12, 2026

Houston Realtors have voted, and they once again have selected Johnson Development as Builder/Developer of the Year in the Houston Agents’ Choice Awards, hosted by Houston Agent Magazine.

More than 60,000 votes were cast in 16 categories, with real estate agents signaling whom they consider to be this year’s most impressive.

Having previously won this honor in 2023 and 2024, Johnson Development continues to shape Houston’s residential landscape, with its newest community, The George, opening this year. Located in Fort Bend County, The George sits on land that was previously part of the George Ranch. Johnson Development is thoughtfully developing the 1,500-acre community to pay tribute to its history.

Other communities have welcomed new model homes and sections, Cross Creek West, which was named MPC/Project of the Year in this year’s Houston Agents’ Choice Awards. The Fulshear community Fulshear moved development into its northern section, adding homesites that range up to 80 feet wide. Cross Creek West also opened four new parks this year, added new builders, and is experiencing record-breaking home sales.

Sienna, a 10,800-acre community in Missouri City, opened a new recreation center this year, as well as more than a dozen new model homes and its first active-adult, 55-plus community. Sienna was a finalist in this year’s Houston Agents’ Choice Awards. Kresston, which opened near Magnolia in 2024, also introduced larger homesites and announced two new parks. Grange, a Katy community that also opened in 2024, expanded its available lot sizes by introducing 40-foot homesites this year, with nearly 500 additional homesites expected to be released to builders by year’s end. Two new model homes have also opened. Jubilee, a lifestyle community in Hockley focused on wellness, also expanded its lot offerings this year, introducing 55-foot homesites. Builders have opened six new model homes in the community this year.

On the other end of the spectrum, several iconic Johnson Development communities have closed out this year or are nearing close-out. Taylor Morrison sold the last newly built home in Cross Creek Ranch this spring, and Woodforest in Montgomery has fewer than 70 opportunities for a new home remaining. Harvest Green — Houston’s first farm-centric community — expects its last lots to go to builders by the end of the year. The Richmond community opened several new amenities this year, including The Slice pool complex and The Coop, a park with a playground, pickleball court, and miniature golf.

Realtors have long played a role in the success of Johnson Development communities. They often work with development teams before the community opens, offering valuable advice on the needs of local home buyers. As development continues, our Realtor relations teams work closely with local agents to keep them informed of the opening of new model homes, the addition of builders and amenities, and general progress. This long collaboration has resulted in an annual Realtor participation rate that routinely tops 80 percent in the sale of new homes in Johnson Development communities.

We want to express our deep gratitude for the many votes that led to being named Builder/Developer of the Year in this year’s Houston Agents’ Choice Awards and for the long-standing trust local real estate agents have in Johnson communities!
