Woodforest Touts Busy 2012

November 07, 2012

Woodforest is breaking new ground with home sales more than double last year’s pace and construction of new amenities in the Montgomery County development.

Crews recently finished work on a new park and playground in Woodforest’s Kinderwood neighborhood and already are hard at work on Forest Island, Woodforest’s resort-style recreation complex. Tennis and basketball courts were expected to open this year with the pool opening for the 2013 swim season. Also underway in Woodforest is a new fire station, opening in 2013.  Next spring, the Conroe Independent School District will begin construction of a new school on a 16-acre site in Woodforest. The school, slated to open in August 2014, will serve students in kindergarten through sixth grade.

“We’ve reached so many milestones this year,” said Virgil Yoakum, general manager of Woodforest. “Not only with the construction start of so many new amenities, but the number of Montgomery County building permits issued to builders in the community makes us the most active community in the County.”
