Riverstone - University Boulevard Opens to Highway 90

Sugar Land area residents are enjoying another roadway enhancement with the November opening of an extension of University Boulevard North from Highway 6 to Highway 90.

The $5 million extension is a four-lane boulevard that provides a continuous route from Highway 90 in Sugar Land to Highway 6 in Missouri City. The roadway continues through Riverstone to Commonwealth Boulevard, offering access to U.S. 59.  The additions through Riverstone and to U.S. 59 opened early last year.

The extensions of University Boulevard have been joint projects of the Texas Department of Transportation, Fort Bend County, the city of Sugar Land and The Johnson Development Corp., which funded the 2-mile stretch through Riverstone.

The final piece of the University Boulevard extension is in design and will cross Highway 90 and connect directly with Burney Road in the Imperial development, also a project of The Johnson Development Corp.
