Journey through Riverstone's Wildlife & Nature Expo April 11

Riverstone - Journey through Riverstone's Wildlife & Nature Expo April 11

March 20, 2015

Trekking through the wild won’t require a journey to the earth’s untamed regions April 11 — Riverstone is offering ample opportunities to see wild beasts of all kinds during its fun and educational Wildlife & Nature Expo set for 10 a.m. to noon at The Club at Riverstone, 18353 University Blvd.

Visitors can view a wide variety of animals and even have a chance to hold non-venomous snakes and baby alligators. A live show will showcase majestic birds of prey and an assortment of interactive educational exhibits will feature owls, butterflies, bees, amphibians and more. Plus, the first 100 families at the event can build a birdhouse to take home, courtesy of Lake Olympia Animal Hospital.

Children can collect stamps at each exhibit on their Expo “passport” and also enjoy face painting and other activities.

Also on display will be birds of a different sort in the award-winning “Flight” outdoor art exhibit that will be on temporary exhibit in Riverstone April 1-15. Winner of the 2012 Art Prize Urban Space Juried Award, “Flight” features nine stainless-steel birds weighing 200 pounds each suspended 12 to 15 feet off of the ground. The art display is part of 40th anniversary celebrations of The Johnson Development Corp., developer of Riverstone.
