Principal Named for New Harvest Green Elementary School

Harvest Green - Principal Named for New Harvest Green Elementary School

November 09, 2016

Harvest Green’s planned on-site elementary school has a principal, moving the future educational facility one step closer to becoming a reality.

The Fort Bend Independent School District has chosen Lori Hoeffken to lead the as-yet-unnamed school underway now on Harlem Road, west of Travis High School. She is currently principal at Oakland Elementary in Richmond.

Hoeffken has more than 20 years of experience in education and has been the principal of Oakland for more than five years. Previously, she served as an assistant principal and teacher at Oakland, a teacher at Lakeview Elementary and a teacher in the Alief Independent School District.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Houston and Masters of Education in Education Administration from Grand Canyon University.

Harvest Green already has two-on site schools — James Bowie Middle School and Travis High School. The new 123,440-square-foot, two-story elementary school campus is slated to open August 2017.

Harvest Green is an innovative 1,300-acre master-planned community in Richmond. In addition to excellent Fort Bend ISD schools, residents have access to a community farm. The Farmhouse, Harvest Green’s new amenity center is slated to open next year. It will feature a state-of-the-art fitness center, family pool with spacious sitting areas, ample shade structures and a splash pad outside the pool gates for year-round enjoyment.
