Viridian 2017 Home Sales Jump 100 Percent

Viridian - Viridian 2017 Home Sales Jump 100 Percent

August 17, 2017

Arlington master-planned community Viridian has experienced robust sales during the first half of 2017, with home sales double the number reported for the same time period last year.

Through July 2, builders had sold 158 new homes in Viridian, enough to land the community on a list of the nation’s top-selling master-planned communities for the first time. Robert Charles Lesser & Co. (RCLCO) ranked Viridian No. 49 on a recent mid-year report of the nation’s best-selling communities.

“We have significantly increased the choice of homes in Viridian this year, and buyers are responding,” said Debra Meers, marketing director. “Add in our location just 20 minutes outside of downtown Dallas and downtown Fort Worth and a growing list of amenities, and it’s easy to see why we are on track for more than 300 home sales this year.”

Viridian has opened a new model home park, featuring 12 models showcasing designs with prices from the $240,000s to the millions. This year’s expansion also has included the release of hundreds of new homesites, four additional parks and the opening of a new phase of Viridian Lake Club.

“Having new homesites available was like opening up a dam,” said David DeVries with RE/MAX Pinnacle Group. “There was a lot of pent-up demand. Even right now, I have more than half a dozen new and resale homes under contract.”

DeVries, who lives in Viridian and is about to break ground on a new home in the neighborhood, says it’s easy to sell there.

“This morning, I was on the water kayaking for four miles and yesterday I ran for six miles on the trails,” he said. “The morning before, I rode my bike and sailed — all within the community. I bring a new client out and ask what they like to do.

“It doesn’t surprise me to know sales are double and that Viridian is one of the nation’s top-selling master-planned communities.”

Ten production and three custom builders offers homes priced from the $240,000s in Viridian, that is in its fifth year of operation. It is a project of Johnson Development.
