Another Great Report Card

Riverstone - Another Great Report Card

November 29, 2017

All of the schools serving Riverstone get an “A,” but that doesn’t mean we won’t boast whenever they receive excellent report cards — this time from Niche.com.

The online review site recently released the 2018 rankings for the best public high schools, middle schools and elementary schools in Texas, and Riverstone schools received high marks.

Leading the pack was Fort Settlement Middle School, which placed in the top 100 for Best Public Middle Schools. The school earned the No. 75 (out of 1,986 middle schools) spot based on state test scores, student-teacher ratio, student diversity, teacher quality, middle school ratings, and the overall quality of the Fort Bend Independent School District.

First Colony Middle School ranked No. 104 on the list and was in the top 100 for Most Diverse Public Middle School.

Elkins High School fared exceptionally well on lists of Most Diverse Public High Schools and Best College Prep Public High School. The Knights were in the top 25 for most diverse and in the top 100 for college prep. Over all Elkins ranked No. 181 out of 1,523 high schools for Best Public High School. High school rankings are based on state test scores, college readiness, graduation rates, SAT/ACT scores, teacher quality, and high school ratings.

Riverstone elementary schools shined as well, based on teacher salaries, teacher absenteeism, teacher tenure, student-teacher ratio, the Niche Academics Grade for the school, and the district's Teachers Grade.

Settlers Way Elementary was ranked at No. 129 out of more than 4400 schools on the Best Public Elementary Schools list. Commonwealth Elementary teachers really made the grade, ranking No. 126 out of 4,400 elementary schools on the list of Best Public Elementary School Teachers. The school also was No. 140 on the list of Best Public Elementary Schools. Austin Parkway Elementary ranked at No. 268.

Niche.com didn’t forget about our on-site Sullivan Elementary, it’s just too new to be ranked. Give it another year and we know it will receive an outstanding report card, as well!
