Trinity Falls - Easy Back To School Lunch Ideas

August 26, 2014

Since McKinney ISD returned to school this week, we thought it would be a great time to share our favorite easy lunch ideas for school.

Turkey-Cheese Pita Pockets

This lunch is super healthy and simple to make! Buy pita bread and spread your child's favorite cheese inside of it. Then, add turkey slices, spinach, and cucumbers. Voilą, you're done! Pair this with some carrots or fruit and you've created a well-balanced meal to keep your child going the rest of the day.

Tacos

Tacos are often thought of as a dinner meal, but they make for a delicious and fun lunch! Start out by warming up tortillas in the morning and packing them up. Then, in separate containers, pack cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, chicken, or whatever else your child enjoys on his or her taco. When lunchtime comes around, they'll be able to make their own tacos. Pair this with something sweet like banana and peanut butter to tame their sweet tooth.

Italian Sub

If your child is a fan of Italian food, this one's for them! Create a mixture of mayo, mustard, and lettuce and spread it over one side of a hoagie roll. Then, add provolone cheese, tomatoes, salami, and turkey. If you have extra time, pair this delicious sub with these Parmesan pita crisps.

When you're fresh out of lunch ideas, take a stab at these healthy and fun meals!
