Trinity Falls - Fun Summertime Activities at McKinney's Heard Museum

McKinney's Heard Museum is the perfect place to take your children to keep their curiosity sparked throughout the summer months. They are offering fun exhibits, camps and more this summer. Here's a quick look at some of the fun events taking place within the next few weeks.

 

Summer Nature Camps: Camp Dragonfly

This exciting camp, which is still open for registration, will be held next week, July 13-17 and will involve topics ranging from insects to optical illusions. Campers will visit our Bullfrog Pond and bird watch at the sanctuary. They will also play fun eco-games and more! To register, click here.

 

Nature Art Camp

Young artists will have the opportunity to create art inspired by being among nature and wildlife. Each day of camp will feature a different type of medium for your little artist to explore. Camp is the week of July 20-July 24 from 9am-noon. Ages 6-12. Cost is $160 for Heard Museum Members and $185 for non-members.

 

Keeper Camps

Keeper 1: Children ages 10-15 years will experience a behind-the-scenes adventure with animals and wildlife. They'll learn about each unique animal what it takes to properly take care of them. Camp is from July 20-July 24 from 9:30am-2:30pm. Cost is $260 for Heard Museum Members and $285 for non-members.

 

Keeper 2: Did you child leave Keeper 1 camp wanting more? Our Keeper 2 camp is a continuation of the adventure. Your child will keep learning how to take care of animals and see what it takes to become an animal ambassador. Prerequisite: Keeper 1 or previous Animal Adventure Camp. Camp runs from July 27-31.
