Trinity Falls - McKinney Square Favorites: The Pantry Restaurant

July 24, 2015

Enjoy the quaint surroundings of McKinney Square as you dine at one of the best historic restaurants downtown. The Pantry was established in 1982 and has since been whipping up some delicious meals for diners. The original owner built the restaurant based on recipes her grandmother passed down to her mother, and then eventually to her. Tom and Cleo, the current owners, felt it necessary to keep the history and tradition alive, and continue serving these handed down recipes to food enthusiasts. The building still has the original brick walls and wooden floors, making your dining experience unforgettable.

In fact, The Pantry is part of the Downtown McKinney Historic Preservation Society's History Building Tour. You can scan the QR code on the sign on the front door and learn more about the exciting history of the building.

It's no surprise that the dishes served at The Pantry are delicious. There is something for everyone, including anything from sandwiches to classic comfort food. Their desserts have won them multiple prizes and their 5-foot chocolate cream pie was even featured on Food Network's "Outrageous Foods." Come by during Thanksgiving or Christmas and you'll see hundreds of pies flying out there door.

What's more, if you can't make it into the restaurant, they also deliver and offer to-go catering. Be sure to order by 3pm the day before to ensure your food is delivered on time. For more information and the menu, click here.

The Pantry offers private events for your special day. Imagine toasting with friends and family in a gorgeous historical building. The area can be customized to fit up to 200 people. Book your wedding reception, birthday party, anniversary, and other formal dinners here.

Next time you go on an outing to Downtown McKinney, be sure to try The Pantry Restaurant and let us know what your favorite dish is on Facebook or Twitter.
