Trinity Falls - 5 Tips and Tricks on Becoming a Morning Person

October 15, 2015

Rise and shine! For those of you who aren't morning people and struggle to get going before your second cup of coffee, we've got a few things for you to try. Here's 5 tips and tricks to help you become a morning person and get out of bed at your McKinney, TX home:

End your day one hour earlier

This sounds simple, but it is a process. Begin trimming down your day one hour, or if it's easier start in 15 minute increments. The sooner you end your day, the sooner you're able to start unwinding and relaxing in your McKinney, TX home. Try setting your phone down earlier or turning on the "Do Not Disturb" feature.

Add more protein to your breakfast

After a full night's sleep, your blood sugar is at it's lowest. A cup of black coffee isn't going to be enough fuel for your engine. Try adding a full protein to your breakfast. After all, it's the "most important meal of the day" for a reason.

Start your day with exercise

Getting your heart rate up in the morning accelerates everything in your day going forward. Try a morning jog in our DFW master-planned community or doing 20 push ups and 20 squats in the morning. Anything to get the blood flowing will force your body to wake up!

Prep the night before

Again, this sounds simple but it makes a huge difference. Prep the coffee pot, lay your clothes out, even get breakfast ready before you go to bed. Do what you can the night before to make the morning smooth!

Lights Out!

This is by far the hardest suggestion. This one asks you to disconnect and turn the TV off, the lights off, and put away the phone all at once so your brain can decompress. This tip may take some getting used to, but it will be the most helpful suggestion to take.

With all of the exciting activities and events going on in our DFW master-planned community, it's hard to settle down and take time to relax in your Mckinney, TX home. Try these tips to wind down and relax to help you get out of bed in the morning. We hope these tips and tricks help you become a morning person!
