Experience a Merry McKinney Christmas Nov. 24-26

Trinity Falls - Experience a Merry McKinney Christmas Nov. 24-26

November 13, 2017

Santa’s elves have been working overtime to prepare for that most wonderful time of the year — “Home for the Holidays...A McKinney Christmas” Nov. 24-26.

Trinity Falls is a proud sponsor of this annual hometown holiday treat centered on the 14-block area of McKinney's 165-year-old commercial historic downtown. The free event features a trio of days filled with seasonal entertainment, costumed characters, carnival rides, children’s activities, a petting zoo and visits with Santa.

The festivities kick off 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 24, when Santa will be on hand to hear little ones’ Christmas desires. Parents wanting to catch that precious moment on film must schedule the photo op in advance. Proceeds from photo sales will benefit Volunteer McKinney. Live musical performances and excerpts from the McKinney Repertory Theater production of “A Christmas Carol” (also sponsored by Trinity Falls!) begin at 1 p.m.

At 6:15 p.m., the city will light up the 34-foot Blue Spruce Christmas tree that adorns the city’s square. Following the ceremony, families can enjoy a concert by Emerald City Band.

More musical stylings will be available for enjoyment from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 25, including Le Freak – The World’s Greatest Disco Band, as well as local dance groups. Opportunities to “groom” everything from goats to llamas at the Ponies & Pals Petting Zoo and Lance the Lemur — always a favorite at Home for the Holidays — will be returning as well! The entire day repeats on Sunday, Nov. 26, from noon to 5 p.m. The complete entertainment schedule can be found here.

Downtown retailers and many vendors will make quick work of your holiday shopping list over the weekend, leaving you time to enjoy stilt walkers and costumed characters. As food is one of the highlights of Home for the Holidays, more than 20 restaurants will be open, plus families can enjoy festival food from multiple food trucks.

Proximity to this unique event is one of the benefits of making the move to Trinity Falls, where residents enjoy both a country lifestyle, exceptional amenities and the hometown feel of a small Texas town.
