Think Inside the Box

Riverstone - Think Inside the Box

January 23, 2018

When it comes to amenities, we usually think outside the box, but lately, we have been thinking inside the box. A box filled with fresh, tasty vegetables!

We partner with LOAM Agronomics to deliver weekly baskets of vegetables to our residents through its Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. LOAM grows pesticide-free herbs and vegetables on its 288-acre farm in Fort Bend County.'۬

Residents can choose a membership or “share” in the CSA that works best for you. Each week’s delivery is $30 or less, depending on the package you choose. Boxes are dropped off weekly and pick up is super easy for residents because LOAM delivers them to The Club at Riverstone. Once you get it home, you will have 8-12 seasonal vegetables (not to mention a members-only newsletter with tips and recipes) to serve to your family!

A recent box included yummy carrots, watermelon radish, broccoli or cauliflower leaves, beets, curly kale, wasabina mustard, broccoli or cauliflower and mizuna mustard.

Don’t forget that joining a CSA is beneficial in other ways. Eating locally'€¨supports community farmers and provides members with produce grown without harmful pesticides. Best of all, fruits and vegetables don’t spend days being transported by trucks. All produce can be on your dinner table within 48 hours of harvest.

It’s just another example of how we help our residents live a happy, healthy lifestyle. We also offer a fitness center, three resort-style pools, miles of trails and tennis courts so you can be the healthiest version of yourself that you can be!
