See What's New at Christine Allen Nature Park

Woodforest - See What's New at Christine Allen Nature Park

August 30, 2018

Just in time for fall leaves, crisp air and the autumn season, the first phase of enhancements to our beautiful Christine Allen Nature Park will be complete.

The enhancements are part of our plan to make the 33-acre park the premier event space in South Montgomery County, as well as a place our residents can walk, jog, bike and commune with nature.

To accommodate visitors to the park for large-scale events we are adding a restroom building and a paved parking lot with accessible parking spaces and room for 30 cars. A new entry opens to a park green with a curb-free drop-off area.

Two overlooks will anchor a pedestrian bridge spanning a detention pond to provide views of our park’s natural splendor.

Those aren’t our only additions. Earlier this year, we opened Kingsley Park, our urban-inspired 1-acre green space that features harvest tables under café lights, an outdoor kitchen, a fire pit and event lawn.

Even more exciting is the opening of Wallaroo Park. This colorful play space features an innovative Sona Play Arch — a dynamic structure that uses smart camera technology to measure the movement of those playing games using sound and movement.

The 12.5-foot tall, 16.4-foot wide arch is anchored by a play floor that features colors and numbers used in the interactive technology, all of which have increasingly difficult levels of play. Because of its size, the Sona Play Arch can also accommodate children in wheelchairs and is developed to be accessible for children with mental and physical disabilities, so everyone can play.

Beautiful parks are just some of the amenities you will discover when you make the move to Woodforest. Residents also enjoy sparkling pools, a spray park, playgrounds, tennis courts, a basketball court, a dog park, trails, the Stampede Sportsplex and proximity to Woodforest Golf Club.
