Trinity Falls - New Date: Rodeo on the River Moves to Sunday

September 20, 2018

We're not letting a little -- or a lot! -- of rain totally spoil our fun. Rodeo on the River is moving to 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23.

We'll still have a wagonload of fun at The Club at Trinity Falls, 7801 Trinity Falls Pkwy, including live music, trick roping, a petting zoo, pony rides, photo opportunities with a live steer and armadillo races. Proceeds from the event benefit ManeGait equine therapy in McKinney.

McKinney’s own country music artist, Harper Grace, will take the stage — as will CMA Artist winner and Texas Country Music Hall of FamerSonny Burgess. Grace performed last March on American Idol. Burgess has scored 11 top 10 hits on Texas country music charts.

Returning to belt out a mix of soulful country ballads and up-tempo honky-tonk tunes will be international country music sensation, Jolie Holliday, winner of Female Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year at the CMA Indie Awards.

Four food trucks will offer chow for purchase, including the 2018 Texas Food Truck Showdown winner, Bite My Biscuit. The purveyor of buttermilk biscuit sandwiches won the Best Between the Buns award for its "CFS" Biscuit featuring chicken fried steak and creamy gravy.

Visitors also will be able to take a carriage ride up to see Trinity Fall’s eight professionally decorated model homes, where they can register to win a new pair of Cavender’s boots worth $500.
