Riverstone - Riverstone Receives Award for Vibrant Resident Lifestyle

December 09, 2010

Fort Bend’s Riverstone recently received a C.A.R.E.S. Award from the Houston chapter of the Community Associations Institute.

The award recognizes Riverstone’s efforts in hosting special events in the community planned by an on-site lifestyle director. After starting work at the beginning of the year, Riverstone lifestyle director Melanie Rushé developed an active events calendar, which ranges from on-site fitness classes to large-scale events that are open to the general public. Response has been strong.

“This year has been amazing,” said Rushé. “And what a difference a few months can make. We had only a handful of residents at our first event, but more than 1,000 at October’s Trail of Treats festival. In light of increasingly strong response, we have planned even more activities and events for next year.”

With a membership comprising community association volunteers, community managers and association service providers, the Community Associations Institute works to assist community associations in promoting harmony, community and responsible leadership. The C.A.R.E.S. Award is given quarterly to recognize excellence in several categories: special events, beautification, neighborhood projects, conservation and helping hands. Riverstone, ranked fifth among the 10 top-selling Houston communities by housing consultant Metrostudy, is located at Highway 6, three miles south of U.S. 59. Home prices are from the $200,000s to the millions.
