Four Johnson Communities Listed Among Nation’s Top-Selling

July 20, 2022

The top-performing developer in the nation’s top-selling metropolitan area — that’s exactly where Johnson Development finds itself after the release of RCLCO’s 2022 mid-year report.

We have four Houston-area communities listed in the annual report, which tracks home sales during the first six months of the year. That’s more than any other developer! RCLCO lists Houston as the nation’s top-performing metropolitan area with 13 communities on the list. Houston home sales represented nearly 20 percent of the nation’s total sales.

Johnson communities making this year’s list are Sienna, Cross Creek Ranch, Woodforest and Jordan Ranch, which is celebrating its debut appearance among the nation’s 50 top-selling communities.

Sienna in Missouri City is Johnson Development’s top-selling master-planned community, a place it has held since 2019. The 10,800-acre community ranked No. 36 with 236 new-home sales during the first half of 2022. Sienna offers a wide range of housing choices, from townhomes to homes priced more than $1 million. Residents enjoy a generous amenity package consisting of water parks, two fitness centers, tennis courts, a dog park, 160-acre sports park, a golf course and more. Seven Fort Bend Independent School District campuses are located onsite, with an eighth opening in August 2023.

Another familiar name to lists of the nation’s top-selling master-planned communities is Cross Creek Ranch, which lands at No. 42 on RCLCO’s 2022 mid-year report. Builders sold 227 new homes in Cross Creek Ranch during the first six months of this year. Residents enjoy access to several pools; disc golf; a dog park; playgrounds; and courts for tennis, pickleball, basketball and wall ball. Four schools are located onsite. The Fulshear community has started home sales in the final 300 acres to be developed.

Just behind Cross Creek Ranch is Woodforest, which ranks at No. 47 with 223 new-home sales. Located in Montgomery County, the 3,000-acre Woodforest also offers a wide variety of available homes as well as multiple pools, abundant parks, sports courts and a golf course. The Pine Market commercial corridor has been growing, with numerous shops, restaurants and other businesses opening there this year.

Jordan Ranch in Fulshear ranks No. 50 with 205 home sales from January through June. The 1,350-acre community welcomed 12 new model homes this year. Residents enjoy a growing amenity palette, including a pool with a lazy river, a fitness center, tennis court, playgrounds and an onsite farm. Viola Randle Elementary School opens in the community in 2023.
