Choose a Growing School District

Cross Creek West - Choose a Growing School District

August 04, 2022

When you choose your community, you choose your children’s schools. It makes sense to choose a community zoned to an excellent, growing school district. Cross Creek West is part of one — the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District (LCISD).

LCISD has a history of excellence, which is why so many parents are attracted to it. As one of the fastest growing districts for its size in Texas, it serves more than 40,000 students across 46 campuses. That number is expected to grow 67 percent by the 2030-31 school year. Why? Because of communities like ours.

LCISD projects that more than 48,000 new single-family homes will be added within the next decade. Fortunately, they have already planned for that. Eighteen new schools are slated to open over the next decade. Most, including two that opened this year, are already funded by a 2017 $445.5 million bond. The district is currently exploring a 2022 bond to meet the needs of their growing student population.

Such phenomenal growth will not change the district’s tradition of excellence in education. State-of-the-art schools will continue to prepare students for success in the 21st century.

Niche.com routinely awards Lamar CISD an overall A rating on its list of top school districts in Texas. This year, the district was awarded A’s for academics, diversity, college prep, sports and teachers. It is ranked No. 106 out of 1,018 school districts in Texas.

LCISD boasts numerous accolades. It is an H-E-B Excellence in Education Large District winner and home to National Principals of the Years, Gates Millennium Scholars, National Blue Ribbon Schools, Rodeo Art Grand Champions, and state athletic champions. Recently, the district was named a member of the comptroller’s Honors Circle for financial and academic excellence.

Cross Creek West students are currently zoned to Huggins Elementary, Roberts Middle School, Leaman Junior High School and Fulshear High School. All of the schools feature innovative programs, state-of-the art technology and dedicated teachers. Fulshear High offers honors, Advanced Placement and dual credit courses.
