Johnson Development Services Officially Breaks Ground on Nolina

February 28, 2023

Community leaders and development partners gathered Feb. 17 to officially break ground on Nolina, a new master-planned community in Williamson County.

Representatives from the City of Florence, the Georgetown Emergency Services District, the Florence Chamber of Commerce, and the Florence Independent School District joined with Johnson Development Services, SEC Planning, Kimley Horn, DTJ Design, HOAR and CC Carlton to commemorate the groundbreaking of the 524-acre community.

Nolina is located off of Ronald Reagan Boulevard eight miles north of Highway 29 and is planned for 1,341 single-family homes. Builders in the first phase will include Chesmar Homes, Taylor Morrison and Westin Homes, with six model homes slated to open this summer when home sales begin. Pricing has not yet been determined.

“We are excited to bring this project to market,” said Michael Cox, President of Johnson Development Services, an affiliate of Johnson Development Corp. “Nolina has an exceptional location, impressive builder partners and well-planned amenities — it should resonate with area home buyers.”

In addition to access to the property’s natural features, the Wildflower House Amenity Center will be home to a family pool, splash pad, fitness center, playground, event lawn and dog park. An onsite Director of Fun will plan frequent resident activities. The amenity center is expected to open in early 2024.

Much of Nolina will be zoned to schools in the Florence Independent School District. A small portion of the community will be zoned to Georgetown Independent School District. Residents in the community will have a Georgetown address.

This will be the first Johnson Development Services community in the Austin area. Johnson Development Corp. is developing  Bryson, a 530-acre community in Leander.
