‘Tis the season for sparkling lights, Santa, shopping and holiday festivals! From parades to opportunities to give back to your community, there are all sorts of ways to celebrate. Here are a few of our favorites near Kresston by Johnson Development.

Magnolia

Come to the Table Thanksgiving Feast

West Montgomery County Community Center
11 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 23
Free
Volunteer to help serve 800 Thanksgiving dinners and enjoy some family fun. There will be a kids' Bible story craft table, face painting, balloon art and live entertainment. Ministry will happen with a prayer station, Bible giveaways and “roamers” who visit with individuals and families. 

The Magic of Christmas Parade of Lights

Line up along the streets of Magnolia for the Greater Magnolia Parkway Chamber of Commerce’s holiday parade.

Montgomery

Light Up the Park

Free
A cherished family tradition featuring beautiful lights and decorations, as well as selfies with Santa and children writing letters to the North Pole.

Historic Montgomery Christmas Parade

9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9
Free
Bring your holiday spirit to Montgomery to cheer for the parade, shop the holiday market and tour the historic homes.

Woodforest

Deck the Pines

Pine Market
5-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1
Free
Kick off the Yuletide season with opportunities to eat, drink and be merry along with a Christmas tree lighting, live Nativity animals, DJ, mechanical reindeer, fire-juggling elves and more. There will be performances by the Oak Hills Junior High Choir and Premier Martial Arts, a tree lighting at 7 p.m. and a visit from Santa.

Conroe

Christmas on Main Street

Start the holidays with a beautiful tree lighting followed by an evening including festive carolers, jazz music, Christmas stories, holiday gift market and Santa.

The holidays continue on a merry note with snow hills, face painting, a petting zoo, pony rides, games and visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Don’t miss the Kiwanis Christmas Parade kicking off at 1 p.m. in downtown Conroe.

Lake Conroe Christmas Boat Parade

The Woodlands

Woodlands Church Festival of Lights

Experience the joy of the season with a stroll through radiant displays of holiday lights.

Christmas Fest and Night of Carols

The Woodlands Methodist Church

There will be inflatables, music, crafts, food and more followed by a night of carols at this annual festival.

Santa’s Merry Mingle

Get ready for a family-friendly day of holiday cheer featuring performances by the Lone Star Strummers, framed professional photos with Santa, snow play, art projects, a special reading with Mrs. Claus and a visit from Olaf.

Tomball

Deck the Depot Tree Lighting

2-8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2
Free
What could be better than trains and Christmas decorations? Celebrate with a kids zone, train rides, vendors, food, drinks, holiday music and an appearance from Santa. Children can take a photo and write letters to Santa. After dark, the mayor will light the Christmas tree.

Tomball German Festival Christmas Market

6-10 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday; 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8-10
Free admission
Celebrate all things Christmas and German at Tomball’s favorite festival. Head out for 140 vendors, four live music stages, more than 30 performers, ethnic food, drinks, carnival rides, dancing, street performers and more.
