Riverstone - Nov. 5 Mega Adoption Event to Find Homes for Cats, Dogs

October 27, 2011

More than 100 cats and dogs will be available for adoption during the “Hunting for Homes” Mega Adoption event happening 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Fort Bend County Fairgrounds.

The adoption fee is $30 and includes a wellness check, spaying or neutering, initial vaccinations and micro-chipping. Seniors can adopt a pet for $15.

Donations of money and supplies are needed, including large wire pet crates (at least 36 by 24 inches), flea medication (Frontline or Advantage) and cleaning supplies. Monetary donations, which will defray the cost of micro-chipping, spaying and neutering, can be sent to Fort Bend County Animal Services, 1210 Blume Road, Rosenbereg, TX 77471. Please put “Hunting for Homes” in the check’s memo line.

The event is a joint effort of the animal service agencies for Sugar Land, Rosenberg, Missouri City, Stafford and Fort Bend County.

Doggies lucky enough to be adopted by Riverstone residents will not only enjoy a new home, but also a great place to run and play safely at the community’s 3.5-acre bark park, which includes two leash-free zones, canine obstacle course equipment, a dog wash station and shade structures.
