LEAGUE CITY, TX--(October 11, 2007) - Residents of League City area new homes in Tuscan Lakes will soon be able to get in shape, educate their pre-schoolers, purchase everyday essentials, and possibly get a tan or a massage close to home. Two new shopping centers, a child care center, a drugstore and a fitness center are in the works for the 870-acre master planned community of Houston new homes.

Builders of Galveston County new homes have also been busy in the area. Tuscan Lakes has added two new builders to the community, Chesmar Homes and Royce Builders. Each of these builders has committed to 42 lots in the Sovana section of Tuscan Lakes, and each has homes priced from the $150,000s.

Kiddie Academy closed recently on a 31,310-square-foot pad site at the northwest corner of League City Parkway and Tuscan Lakes Boulevard. Kiddie Academy will be licensed to care for 180 children. It will be the second Texas location for the nationally franchised child care service.

CVS is building a new 12,900-square-foot CVS/pharmacy store within Tuscan Lakes at the southwest corner of League City Parkway and South Egret Bay Boulevard. The expected opening date is November 2007.

As previously announced, LA Fitness will anchor a 60,000-square-foot retail center, the first major retail center in the community. The center will be at the northwest corner of League City Parkway (Texas 96) and South Egret Bay Boulevard (FM 270). Both LA Fitness and the retail center are scheduled to open late November 2008.

Tuscan Lakes, a project of The Johnson Development Corp. provides an Italian-themed oasis in League City, just minutes from an array of Clear Lake attractions. Fourteen of the area's top builders offer stylish designs in the 870-acre mixed-use development, with prices from the $150,000s and custom plans from the $800,000s. Architectural and landscaping elements reminiscent of the Tuscany region of Italy are integrated into amenities and common areas including an aqueduct at the main entrance, parks, resort-style pools, lakes, nature preserves, water features, greenbelts and jogging trails.
