JDC Sponsors Local Real Estate AssociationsJanuary 15, 2026
Houston is one of the nation’s top housing markets, with a vast number of real estate agents — membership in the Houston Association of Realtors (HAR) stands at approximately 59,000. To keep the industry operating at its finest, HAR and other organizations offer a broad spectrum of support to these agents, helping them excel and, in turn, better serve Houston-area home buyers. Johnson Development actively supports those efforts. In 2025 alone, we supported and/or sponsored several real estate initiatives last year, including the HAR Texas Realtors Leader Program, the HAR Young Professionals Network 20 Under 40 Program, the HAR Katy Networking Meeting and the Asian American Real Estate Association. “Sponsoring these initiatives connects us with the professionals who drive Houston’s real estate market,” said JDC Realtor Relations Liaison Megan Maloney. “It’s a partnership built on shared values, collaboration, and a commitment to long-term community growth.” Here’s a closer look at how each program supports the local real estate market. HAR Texas Realtors Leader Program The Texas Realtors Leadership Program (TRLP) targets experienced Realtors and offers training, skill development, and networking opportunities. Its aim is to cultivate community and industry leaders and advance the professional and personal growth of each member. In 2025, participants attended nine sessions, learning about business planning, time management, spokesperson training, and more before graduating from the program. Applications are typically accepted in the spring. HAR Young Professionals Network Supporting both TRLP and the Young Professionals Network (YPN), we were able to reach a wide mix of real estate agents at varied levels of experience. The YPN welcomes young professionals into the HAR community and works to help them develop career-advancing skills through association involvement, training, engagement, and volunteering in the community. The 20 Under 40 Program recognizes 20 real estate professionals under the age of 40 who through demonstrating excellence in sales and community involvement are future industry leaders. Katy Area Networking Meeting The Houston market is broad, which is why many Realtors choose to specialize in a particular area. The Houston Association of Realtors supports that, hosting area-specific functions that give local agents a chance to connect and learn from others what is happening in their selected area. With several vibrant Johnson communities in West Houston, we decided to sponsor area networking meetings in Katy, which are held every other month. Asian American Real Estate Association Johnson Development has long been a sponsor of the Asian American Real Estate Association (AAREA), which was created to support the large Houston-area Asian community by strengthening the image of Asian American real estate agents and establishing collaborations between and among Asian American-owned businesses. Members meet often for mixers, continuing education courses, luncheons and more. Looking Ahead to 2026 It was rewarding to with so many real estate professionals in 2025 and supporting causes that contribute to their success. We look forward to more opportunities in 2026 to engage with and support these important initiatives!
