Giving Back in 2020

Giving Back in 2020

January 25, 2021

Johnson Development didn’t need a pandemic to prompt us to support local non-profits and the greater community — that’s something we’ve done for years. But giving back was especially meaningful last year. Here’s a look at how we worked to help those in need in 2020:

Healthcare heroes
We delivered hundreds of meals to healthcare workers at hospitals around the Houston area last April to honor and thank them for their care and dedication.

A Shelter for Cancer Families
Sienna in Missouri City supported A Shelter for Cancer Families Hearts of Gold campaign held last September with a 1-mile Gold Stroll, distributing purchased Hearts of Gold yard signs and participating in the Gold Rush sign campaign.

Abigail’s Place
Helping single mothers in Fort Bend County, Abigail’s Place was one of five beneficiaries in the Give Back — Move Forward campaign by Cross Creek Ranch, which gifted $500 to one of the charities for each new home sold in Cross Creek Ranch in December 2020.

Boy Scouts of America
Our Montgomery community of Woodforest donated $2,000 to the Scouts last year, supporting their youth programs.

CASA of Montgomery County
Grand Central Park in Conroe supported the annual CASA Superhero Run/Walk, helping children in the court system.

East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry
Richmond’s Harvest Green once again helped raise money with the annual OutRun Hunger 5k Family Walk/Run, benefiting the East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry.

Family Hope
Cross Creek Ranch in Fulshear served as a site for Family Hope to distribute drive-thru meals last year, plus chose the organization as a beneficiary of several campaigns, raising thousands of dollars.

Fort Bend PAWS
Dedicated to raising funds and awareness for Fort Bend County Animal Services, Fort Bend PAWS was one of five beneficiaries in the Give Back — Move Forward campaign by Cross Creek Ranch, which gifted $500 to one of the charities for each new home sold in Cross Creek Ranch in December 2020.

Fort Bend Rainbow Room
Fort Bend Rainbow Room was also one of five beneficiaries in the Give Back — Move Forward campaign by Cross Creek Ranch, which gifted $500 to one of the charities for each new home sold in Cross Creek Ranch in December 2020.

God’s Garage
Woodforest and Grand Central Park made a $750 donation to God’s Garage, which assists with vehicle maintenance and repairs for single mothers and widows and wives of deployed military.

Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center
Cross Creek Ranch hosted regular blood drives during 2020, helping to meet the daily demand of approximately 1,000 units of blood by the more than 170 hospitals served by the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center.

House of Hope
Last year, Woodforest donated $1,200 to support Home of Hope, a refuge for adolescent victims of human trafficking.

Jimmy Pappas Sporting Clay Shoot
Harvest Green, a farm-centric community in Richmond, donated $1,500 for the annual Jimmy Pappas Sporting Clay Shoot, a charity event benefiting organizations offering support for cancer patients and their families.

Montgomery County Food Bank
Realizing that pet owners were stressed in providing food for their animals, Woodforest in Montgomery hosted a Paws on Wheels event to collect pet food and supplies for clients of the Montgomery County Food Bank.

Texana
Texana was one of five beneficiaries in the Give Back — Move Forward campaign by Cross Creek Ranch, which gifted $500 to one of the charities for each new home sold in Cross Creek Ranch in December 2020. The non-profit organization provides behavioral health care and developmental disabilities services to residents of a six-county area.

Toys for Tots
Woodforest once again collected unwrapped toys for the Toys for Tots program, a charity drive the community has hosted for six consecutive years.

Yes to Youth
Woodforest donated $1,000 to Yes to Youth, a Montgomery County youth services organization that provides a safe and nurturing home where abused, battered, sex-trafficked, homeless and at-risk youth begin healing from the past and become empowered for the future.

Young Life Montgomery County
Woodforest donated $1,200 to support Christian teen youth of Montgomery County.
