![]() Johnson Development Strikes Right Chord to Convey Community VisionAugust 14, 2025
While visuals often paint the picture of a community, Johnson Development is tapping into another powerful sense to bring its neighborhoods to life: sound. The award-winning developer has launched a series of Spotify playlists that capture the unique spirit of each of its communities — offering a new way for residents and prospective homebuyers to feel the lifestyle even before stepping foot onsite. Together, the playlists span more than 51 hours of music, thoughtfully curated to reflect the identity, rhythm and aspirations of each neighborhood. “Music has the remarkable ability to tell a story and evoke emotion in a way words or visuals sometimes can’t,” said Christen Johnson, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Johnson Development. “Our communities are built around connection — and these playlists are an extension of that. They’re personal, immersive and help people experience what life feels like in each place.” Each playlist is crafted by a community’s marketing director to reflect hyper-local influences — from musical nods to regional culture and nature, to songs played during community events. They're featured on websites, used during tours and played at public events to help convey the community’s distinct vibe. For example, Jordan Ranch’s playlist, curated by Tori Arreola, offers an easygoing mix perfect for backyard get-togethers and sunny strolls, while Kresston’s Legends Radio, built by Natalie Rosser, honors Texas roots with classic hits. Amanda Burke created four mood-based playlists for Grange — including Backyard Boogies and Front Porch Vibes — and an additional four for Grand Central Park that pair with specific experiences, such as lakeside relaxation or a hike through nature. In Harvest Green, the Roots & Rhythm playlist by Kore Deaville and Vanesa Arias Hernandez underscores the community’s agricultural roots with songs like “Big Green Tractor” and “Homegrown.” Over in The George, Carrie Roehling’s Boots and Roots mix celebrates legacy through classic country hits. From the joyful energy of Joyful Jams in Jubilee to Sienna’s playlist of upbeat, community-driven favorites, each collection offers an auditory preview of the neighborhood it represents. “This initiative is more than just fun — it’s part of a larger storytelling approach,” Johnson said. “It’s one more way we’re making our communities feel real and relatable before you even visit.”
