Warm Weather= Mosquitoes

Cross Creek Ranch - Warm Weather= Mosquitoes

June 07, 2013

The mosquitoes are out: it is time to protect your family, your home, and your neighbors! Remember the four D's:

1. Dusk/ Dawn is the times of day your should avoid being outdoors.

2. Deet is an ingredient to look for in an insect repellent. Organic alternatives such as orange spray, eucalyptus, or citronella can also be used.

3. Dress in long sleeved shirts and pants when outside. Spray thin clothing with insect repellent.

4. Drain standing water in your yard and neighborhood. Some of the most benign areas can collect water and be a breeding ground for mosquitoes! Be mindful of empty containers, pet water dishes, toys, birdbaths, bottled plants, ponds, clogged rain gutters, and unkempt swimming pools.

Barrier sprays can be used outside, around your home. The product, 'Talstar P' can be purchased online, and has been proven to work well. Remember to always follow the application directions provided by the manufacturer.
