Grand Central Park - Conroe Regional Medical Center Executive: '��Grand Central Park Will Be A Game Changer'��

As construction begins on Grand Central Park’s first new luxury homes, the head of the area’s largest private-sector employer describes the master-planned community as a “real game changer” for attracting qualified workers and volunteers.

“Grand Central Park will have a positive impact on our hospital for many different reasons,” says Matt Davis, chief executive officer of Conroe Regional Medical Center located just across Loop 336 from the new master-planned community. “Not only will it allow the hospital to provide high-quality care to a greater population of the Montgomery County community, it also will have a positive impact on our hiring processes.”

Conroe Regional Medical Center, an HCA affiliated hospital, employs more than 1,200 and adds 150-250 employees each year due to expanded services, routine turnover and retirements.  The 328-bed hospital also offers more than 400 on-staff physicians.  About 200 volunteers provide needed assistance in various aspects of the facility.

“As our hospital grows and its service lines expand, we will continue to hire new employees,” says Davis, who currently serves as Chairman Elect of the Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce.  “Having hundreds of new homes right across the street certainly will be beneficial for us from a recruitment standpoint.”

Ironically, one of Grand Central Park’s first new homebuyers, Sally Sangil of Conroe, is a Registered Nurse at Conroe Regional Medical Center. 

“Once we’re in our new home, I can practically walk to work,” she says.

While the opening of Grand Central Park is good news for the hospital, the presence of a full-service hospital with Level II Trauma capabilities is a strong selling point for the community, says Shannon League, director of marketing for Grand Central Park.

“Nearby, quality healthcare is one of those things homebuyers feel good about when they purchase a new home, regardless of their stage in life,” she says.   

As part of Conroe Regional Medical Center’s introduction to new residents of Grand Central Park, Davis says the hospital will schedule lunch-and-learn events where residents can gather in the community for presentations from physicians on various health-related topics.
