Clear Creek ISD students will spring into spring break March 15-19 offering families the opportunity to explore the many Bay Area attractions they might take for granted. Here’s a list of some of our favorite kid-friendly activities. If you live in Edgewater, you’ll be that much closer to the fun.

Spring Break at Armand Bayou Nature Center

9 a.m.- 6 p.m. Mon.-Fri., March 15-19
$6 ages 13+, $4 ages 4-12, free for 3 and under

Enjoy the fresh air and beautiful flowers at ABNC. The center will be open every day of spring break with opportunities for family night hikes. Don’t miss the EcoExplorers program for children ages 4-10.

43rd Corvette Chevy Expo

9 a.m.-6 p.m. Sat., March 13, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sun., March 14
$15 adults, children 12 and under free; $25 weekend pass

The largest indoor Chevy show in Texas is back. Come out for world-class cars, live music, handcrafted items from local vendors and more.

Moody Gardens

Hours vary by season
$35-$80

The great thing about living in Edgewater is how close it is to Moody Gardens. Spend the day or the entire week exploring the Rainforest and Aquarium Pyramids, MG3D Theater and 4D Theaters, Discovery Museum, 20,000 Leagues Interactive Adventure, Colonel Paddlewheel Boat and Reef Rescue Virtual Reality Experience.

Clear Creek Paddle Trail

Daily
Free

Spend at least one day of spring break floating lazily down the paddle trail. Launch your kayak or canoe from Countryside Park, Heritage Park or Walter Hill Park then enjoy the sun, water and wildlife.

Space Center Houston

10 a.m.-5 p.m. daily

Spring is the perfect time to explore space! Discover what it takes to travel to Mars, step back in time to the first rocket launch, get an up-close look at spacecraft and more.

Kemah Boardwalk

Times vary, open daily
Strolling is free, rides are extra

The ultimate spring break getaway is at Kemah Boardwalk where you can ride the rides, eat the eats and shop the shops. From March 5-21, you can buy a Spring Break Pass that gets you into Kemah Boardwalk, the Galveston Historic Pleasure Pier and the Downtown Aquarium.

Galveston Island State Park

Daily
$5 parking

It wouldn’t be spring break without at least one trip to the beach. This one offers kayak tours, beach and surf explorations, bird walks, nature field trips and fishing clinics for free.

Galveston Family Beach Challenge

11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sun., March 14
Free. Registration required

The annual family challenge returns to Stewart Beach. A portion of the beach will be transformed into a gigantic obstacle course with life-size versions of classic favorites like giant Jenga and dominoes, sack races and sandcastle building. Participants will have the chance to win the grand prize of a $500 gift card plus tickets to popular Galveston attractions.
